Palazzo Sturm

Bassano del grappa

Thanks to its position you can enjoy a unique view of the Ponte Vecchio and the Brenta river. Noble palace built in the mid-eighteenth century, commissioned by Vincenzo Ferrari, an important silk merchant, has over seventy rooms spread over seven levels and decorated around 1760 by the Veronese painter Giorgio Anselmi, with evident reference to the commercial and economic enterprises of the manufacture of the Ferrari family. In 1943, Baron Giovanni Battista Sturm von Hirschfeld donated it to the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa. The building currently houses the “Giuseppe Roi” Ceramics Museum, which collects collections of ancient ceramics and the “Remondini” Printing Museum, dedicated to the typography and chalcography of the famous family of graphic entrepreneurs.
