Castle Of Marostica
Marostica (VI) - distance from the Galleria 45 Km 11
Marostica with its two castles, the Upper Castle and the Lower Castle, joined by a wall, about 1800 meters long, its walkways, offers the magic of being able to admire a medieval historic center. Subjected in 1311 to the Scaliger dominion of Cangrande della Scala, in 1312 the two castles were built: the Lower Castle, also known as the Lower Castle, and the Upper Castle. The walls, on the other hand, were built in 1372 by Cansignorio. The historic center is accessed through the four doors: Porta Vicentina to the south, Porta Breganzina to the west, PortaBassanese to the east and Porta del Castello Superiore to the north. At the center is the famous "Piazza degli Scacchi" known all over the world where every two years, even years, on the second weekend of September it hosts the famous "Chess Game" with over 550 figures in medieval costumes.
